Family Day at Exeter Racecourse is one of the busiest and most fun days of the season! As ever we have fantastic racing action as well as two pony races where the jump racing stars of the future will take to the stage.
We'll have the stars of Ice Age, Sid and Scrat, paying us a visit at 12:30pm, 1:30pm, 2:30pm, 3:30pm and 4:30pm. We'll also be giving young ones the chance to experience the thrill of riding a race with our Equicizer, which is a mechanical racehorse.
A behind the scenes tour will take place before racing, as well as jockeys' autograph sessions during the day and children’s running races down the home straight.
New this year will be the launch of Junior Jumpers at Exeter – bringing children exclusive news about their favourite jockeys and horses, plus the chance to meet them and take part in special activities. Take a look at the details here and become a Junior Jumper today, before making a date in the diary to visit us on April 11th. We'll also be giving the first 200 children through the gate a FREE children's racecard pack including stickers and crayons! Put Family Day on Tuesday, April 11 into your diary and prepare for a great day out!
But if it is just the action on the track you are after, why not have a look at booking the Desert Orchid Restaurant for the day? On this day, a 3 course carvery luncheon, table for the day overlooking the racecourse, racecard, hospitality staff looking after you and easy access to the Tote can be booked for just £60 per person – 25% off the normal price of £80.
A free bus leaves Exeter St David’s at 12:40am and the Bus & Coach Station at 12:55pm, returning half an hour after the last race.
Haldon Premier badge holders have access to all public areas, including the Haldon Stand, with the Denman Room serving a light lunch and full range of drinks and the Best Mate Bar next door. Upstairs, racing may be enjoyed in warmth and comfort from the Iddesleigh Gallery, which offers a superb panoramic view of the track.
Grandstand and Paddock badge holders have access to all public areas other than the Haldon Stand. The AP and Martin Pipe Bars offer fully licensed bar facilities and light snacks, whilst there is a burger van at the rear of the stands.
